Album Kolaborasi Jonny Greenwood & Komposer Penderecki Rilis Maret 2012

Gitaris Radiohead, Jonny Greenwood telah mengumumkan detail dari album kolaborasinya dengan komposer Krzysztof Pendereck yang akan rilis pada tanggal 13 Maret nanti.

LP ini akan mencakup karya Greenwood tahun 2005 berjudul Popcorn Superhet Receive, yang belum pernah dirilis sebelumnya. Album ini sudah bisa dipesan di Nonesuch Store.

Penderecki sendiri terbilang komposer besar asal Polandia yang dijuluki “Dewa (dari Polandia) untuk musik avant-garde”. Sementara Greenwood yang disebut sebagai musisi senior Inggris untuk art-pop, adalah penggemar lama yang sering menjadikan Penderecki referensi dalam musiknya. Kedua musisi ini bertemu di Polandia tahun lalu, pada Kongres Budaya Eropa dan sepakat untuk berkolaborasi. Album ini direkam tahun lalu bersama Polish Aukso Orchestra.

LP akan terdiri dari empat bagian yang berbeda. Polymorphia dan Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima yang ditulis oleh Penderecki di awal 60-an. Dan Greenwood membuat versi Responses to Polymorphia, yang bisa dibilang merupakan remix orchestral dari karya-karya Penderecki dan Popcorn Superhet Receiver yang terinspirasi dari Threnody.

Untuk merayakan rilis album, Penderecki dan Polish Aukso Orchestra akan muncul di Barbican, London pada 22 Maret.
